The mall features approximately 70 stores, as well as a movie theater and food court. Anchor stores include Bass Pro Shops, JCPenney and Sears. History Fingerlakes Mall was developed by The Pyramid Companies of Syracuse, New York in 1980. Originally, the mall featured Chappell's, JCPenney, Kmart, and Sears as its anchor stores; at the time, the mall also featured a movie theater and roller skating arena. Chappell's moved to Camillus in 1994, and Kmart closed a year later. As these anchor stores closed, the mall began to lose many inline tenants, and by the late 1990s, it was forty-five percent occupied.[1] Peebles soon replaced Chappell's but then closed not long afterward. In June 1999, the mall was sold to Jager Management, who in turn sold it to Gregory Greenfield & Associates (GG&A) five months later.[2] Under GG&A's management, and with Jones Lang LaSalle as a leasing agent, the mall was renovated inside and outside.[2] By 2003, it was at eighty percent occupancy.[1][2] Sears was later re-located from its existing store to the space vacated by Kmart. The former Sears store and adjoining mall space were converted to Bass Pro Shops, which opened in 2004.[3] References ^ a b "Shopping Centers Today" (html).
