He finished with the all time season win mark of 43. The 2009-2010 boys tennis team won the city championship. Losing to Centennial during the regular season but beating them 5-0 in the championship. During the 2009 cross-country season West High had the top two girl’s cross-country runners in the city. Tauan Jeffrey as a sophomore took first place in the Columbus City Championship race, and was spotlighted as WTBN-610's athlete of the week. Emma Welsh-Huggins as a freshman finished second. The boys cross-country team lost finished 2nd behind Brookhaven High School in the cross-country city championship meet for the 2006-2007 season. The baseball team lost to Centennial in the city championship game for baseball for the 2006-2007 season. The biggest sports rival are the Briggs High Bruins, to whom they lost the latest football game in 2008 by the score of 42-12, the football team ended with a 2-8 record.
